ZOU Staffer Mavhiki launches album, pays tribute to the University

The Zimbabwe Open University staffer Chenjerai “Shuramurove” Mavhiki launched a “hot” nine track album titled African Agenda at Jazz 105 on Thursday night in the capital and paid tribute to the University leadership which he said has been a vital cog in his music success story.

Known as Shuras by his workmates and his legion of fans, Mavhiki dedicated the polished work to the University’s leadership, workmates and his fans.

Association of African Universities Honours ZOU

The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) was honoured by the Association of African Universities (AAU) through an African Quality Rating Mechanism (AQRM) evaluation visit held in Harare in June this year.

ZOU is the only University in Zimbabwe that took part in the exercise, as well as the only Open and Distance Learning (ODL) University that joined 14 other Universities on the African continent.

ZOU Annual Vc’s Games New Dates Set

The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) annual Vice Chancellors games which were initially scheduled for August 23 to 27 have since been moved forward to August 30 to September 3 to pave way to the National Youth Games that are set to be happening in the same week in Hwange.Centre for Student Management Director Professor David Chakuchichi confirmed the latest development.

Zimbabwe Open University will once again this year take part at this year’s Harare Agricultural Show which will run from August 21 to 26, 2017 in Harare.

The show, which will be entering its 107th anniversary, will run under the theme “Seed food: innovate, consolidate, sustain”. Zimbabwe Open University will exhibit under the same theme.

ZOU TAKE PART IN NATIONAL CLEAN – UP CAMPAIGN

The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) joined the entire nation in the National Clean-up Campaign launched by the Office of the President in the capital this week.

Despite the invitation coming at short notice, the University, through the Harare/Chitungwiza Regional Campus, managed to attend the event with a delegation of close to 50 students and staff members who joined thousands of other members from different departments in the capital.

Intensive Weekend Summer School August 2017 Intake

You Spoke….We Listened! You want more intensive teaching and hence more hours to interact with your Professors.  Zimbabwe Open University, your responsive and flexible University is delighted to announce the introduction of an Intensive Summer School.  The Intensive Summer School would be in the form of weekend lectures or one-week block sessions.  Initially, the Intensive Summer School will be conducted at the following Regional Campuses.  Harare-Chitungwiza, Bulawayo, Midlands, Manicaland and Masvingo.

ZOU Introduces Staggered Fees Payment Plan

Please be advised that, the Zimbabwe Open University has come up with a Staggered fees payment plan so as to improve the management of student’s debt and registration. Students can now register all the required maximum courses per semester upon payment of an initial deposit of 50% of the Total fees inclusive of SRC, bus levy and caution fee plus $25 administration fee.

Under the proposed plan students are required, on registration at the Regional Campus, to complete the staggered fees payment application form and an acknowledgement of debt form.
