Zimbabwe Open University Staff Sports Association (ZOUSSA) Chairperson, Portia Mazhindu, joined the rest of the SAUSSA family of Chairpersons at Fort Hare, South Africa to fine tune preparations of their next sporting event to be held at the University of Fort Hare in December 2017.

The President of the Association, Maria Mochechela from the University of Limpopo encouraged all Universities in the Southern Africa region to attend such games as they give their institutions a platform to market their programmes.

Mazhindu took this opportunity to encourage SAUSSA Chairpersons to register to study with ZOU, an open and distance learning University. This kind of education allows one to learn while you earn and also gives everyone an opportunity to study from wherever you are.

The SAUSSA games will burst into life from December 10 to 16, 2017 where all staff members from Association members will showcase their talents in different sporting activities among them netball, soccer, volleyball, athletics, basketball, pool, darts and chess.

Other SAUSSA association members include University of Fort Hare, Walter Sisulu University, University of Botswana, Botswana International University of Science and Technology, Chinhoyi University of Technology, National University of Science and Technology, University of Zimbabwe, Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, University of Malawi, Limpopo University, University of South Africa, University of Swaziland, North West University, University of Namibia, University of Lesotho and University of Zambia.

The music and culture night will sign off the weeklong event whereby different countries will showcase their cultural experiences.
