Harare/Chitungwiza Regional campus took preparations for this year’s 5th edition of the Vice-Chancellor’s games to another level with a massive training session for all sporting disciplines at their new home ground Manyame Airbase on Saturday.

Under the watchful eyes of Student Advisor Mr. Taurai Nyatsanza and Harare-Chitungwiza Regional Campus coach Mr. Andrew Mukono, students went through their paces in soccer, volleyball, netball, tennis as well as basketball.

The day started with choral session for all students who thronged Manyame Air Base Grounds in preparation for the Culture and Music night competition that will be held in Mutare as part of the games.

Speaking on the sidelines of the training, Mr Mukono said he was doing his best so that his soccer team wins gold for the fifth time this year.

“As Harare we have a wide selection base so we have to be the best always. If the dates are moved, then it will give us time to fine-tune our teams ahead of the games,” he said.

The VC’s games set to be hosted by Manicaland Regional Campus were initially set to burst into life on August 23 to 27 2017. However, the dates have since been moved to August 30 to September 3, 2017 to pave way for the National Youth Games set for Hwange.
