The Zimbabwe Open University staffer Chenjerai “Shuramurove” Mavhiki launched a “hot” nine track album titled African Agenda at Jazz 105 on Thursday night in the capital and paid tribute to the University leadership which he said has been a vital cog in his music success story.
Known as Shuras by his workmates and his legion of fans, Mavhiki dedicated the polished work to the University’s leadership, workmates and his fans.
In attendance were top government officials that included Central Committee member Last Mbizvo, Hartified Constituency Chairlady, Angelica Majoni and Harare provincial member, Lackmore Mangwanya.
Mangwanya took the opportunity to encourage other musicians who had thronged Jazz 105 in full support of Shuramurove to invest in Education.
He, however, cited ZOU as one of the best Universities that musicians and other stakeholders that witnessed the colorful event can make use of to enhance their lives.
It is paramount for artists to get equipped with necessary skills to manage their talent so that they rise to greater heights through institutions such ZOU.
Mavhiki is poised to release a special dedication song to the University. Music lovers should watch out for the track titled Handichaoni.
