Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) through its Harare/Chitungwiza Regional Campus joined the nation and participated in this year’s Carnival.

The idea behind the participation was to make the brand ZOU visible by parading the winners of the Miss ZOU Pageant which was held in Mutare recently during the Vice Chancellors’ games.

Available was the incoming Miss ZOU, Charity Mahombera, Second Princess, Privilege Musvanhise and Miss Personality, Makaita Saita.

Thousands of Zimbabweans were in the streets to appreciate the cultures of several participating nations. Apart from ZOU, four other Universities took part in the event namely Africa University, Chinhoyi University, Great Zimbabwe University and University of Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) spokesperson Sugar Chagonda said the fourth edition of the carnival surpassed expectations.

The Carnival equipped ZOU with a deep understanding of diverse cultures of the world that can be used to attract students from those cultures as well as provision of customised services. This experience will go a long way in helping ZOU to achieve its world class University status.
