The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) successfully hosted its 15th graduation ceremony that was held at their main Campus in Hatcliffe.
President Robert Gabriel Mugabe who is the Chancellor of the Zimbabwe Open University capped the graduands.
This year’s graduation ceremony ran under the theme “Transforming Higher Education for Industrialisation and Modernisation”.
A total of 3331 students were conferred with various degrees at the momentous event.
Among the grandaunts, 1736 were females while males were 1595, a clear indication that more women are now taking up education than their male counterparts. Female students continue to dominate in institutions of higher learning.
17 attained Doctor of Philosophy awards (DPhils). Out of the 17 DPhil graduates, it was impressive to note that eight of them were females. Also two male students were awarded with the Master of Philosophy degree.
