Welcome To Zimbabwe Open University Mashonaland East Regional Campus
The Regional Director and staff at Mash East region welcomes all registered and prospective students. We value your presence at our region and we promise to meet all your academic needs. The regional centre operates at 21 Fifth Street and at the CAIPF Building (Telone Building) opposite CBZ in Marondera. The region draws students from the nine districts of the Mash East Province. Mash east region now has district offices in Chivhu, Murewa and Wedza and hopes to open more district learning centers in the near future.
Mash East Region has an active ALUMNI and SRC. All students are expected to fully participate in the SRC programmes as this will allow you as ODL students to share your experiences, challenges and suggest solutions to make your university life exciting. Our SRC coordinates sporting activities, debates as well as indoor games. We also have a Student Advisor/Counselor in the region who is there to offer guidance and counseling, so should you meet any challenges that affect your academic life, do not hesitate to visit him. The region boasts of 14 lecturers and PHD candidates. We boast of true academics in the region through the Research and scholarship committee that assists all aspiring academics in publishing and presenting research papers at conferences.
Our tutorials are currently held at Marondera High School as well as at Hurungwe Secondary School in Murewa. For examinations we make use of the Methodist Church in Fifth Street just by the regional offices as well as Marondera High School for bigger numbers in the Teacher development courses. Our library is housed at the CAIPF Building and we have our Senior Library Assistants who are always available to assist you. You need to register with the library first so that you can access the services. The library has text books as well as e resources. Visit the regional offices and make use of the Wi-Fi services for your researches. The library is also open to students from other universities. You bring your IDs and see the library staff for the charges. Our students communicate with their lecturers through the various social media platforms in our bid to meet our students at their door steps.
We wish you all the best in your studies.
