Zimbabwe Open University Auditions for Student-Run Radio Station Draw in Impressive Talent.
The Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) recently held auditions for their upcoming campus radio station, ZOU FM, and the turnout was nothing short of impressive. The auditions, which took place on Saturday, 10th March 2024 at the ZOU National Centre in Harare, saw 26 enthusiastic candidates vying for a spot at the soon-to-be launched radio station.

Elder Para, one of the facilitators of the auditions, expressed his delight at the level of talent and commitment displayed by the students during the auditions. He highlighted that out of the 26 students who participated, 24 were selected and categorized into script writers & producers, news & current affairs, and entertainment presenters.
The auditions not only showcased the students’ passion for radio but also their organizational skills and creativity. It was evident that the auditions brought to light the immense talent that exists within the walls of the ZOU institution.

Following the auditions, the selected students will undergo orientation and training scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of March. The aspiring radio hosts were also encouraged to seek guidance from experienced colleagues in the industry and familiarize themselves with media laws to ensure they operate within legal boundaries.
The launch of ZOU FM promises to be an exciting development for the ZOU community, providing a platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity while gaining valuable experience in the field of radio broadcasting. With such a talented pool of individuals at the helm, ZOU FM is sure to make waves in the broadcasting industry.
