Research Interests

Dr S Chirume is the chairperson and programme coordinator for the Mathematical Sciences department. His research interests are mathematics and statistics curriculum implementation and evaluation, statistical data analysis, research methods, mathematical modelling, and open and distance learning. He has supervised and assessed research projects/dissertations at PhD and BSc Levels, presented papers at various fora, published at least 37 papers in refereed journals, engaged in community services, and has taught mathematics, statistics and applied education at the secondary school level and at teachers’ colleges.
