Miss ZOU Initiative Brings Hope to Inmates with Pad and Grocery Donation
In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, the Zimbabwe Open University, under the Miss ZOU initiative, donated pads and groceries worth $432 to the Chikurubi Maximum Prison inmates. This philanthropic event, which took place on 31 January 2025, sought to promote menstrual hygiene and dignity among inmates, aligning with the theme “Beyond the Walls, Into Their Hearts with Love & Care!”

The event was attended by the Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing, and representatives from six sponsoring organizations: Perfect Symphony, Darsalam Foundation, Ital Manuel Foundation, Vision 2030 Kakoto Foundation, and ZIYFA-SD.
The donation, which included reusable pads and groceries, was handed over to both female and male inmates through a dignified and respectful process. This generous contribution is expected to significantly impact on the lives of the inmates, promoting their health, dignity, and well-being.

The officials also praised the Zimbabwe Open University, through Miss ZOU initiative for the selfless endeavor in making the donation event a reality.
